One more hilly stage, with great landscapes and views, and still more spring flowers and Mediterranean scents. The third stage confirms and renews the positive impressions of the previous stages.

The most significant section of the route runs along a ridge of peaks, on the watershed between the gulfs of Portoferraio, on the left, and Porto Azzurro, on the right, where you can enjoy excellent panoramic views in good weather.

You go towards the south, first on a road and then along a wide path, skirting the golf courses:

You reach Route 26, and continue on it, for about 500 m:

You ignore the first fork, while at the second one you turn left (white-red sign on the wall), taking a narrow road:

You initially head to the northeast, then east along the pastures, reaching a small group of houses, where you take the path climbing fairly steeply, east-north-east:

You reach a wider path and take it to the right:

On little or no slope, the path follows the ridge of the relief. You can already perceive the shore of the island's southern coast:

You get to another fork, where you turn left:

The view gets wider and wider, and you can admire the gulf of Portoferraio:

You walk along the side of Monte Castello, 390 m, and you start to climb:

Then you head towards the ridge

along which you continue

until you reach the greatest elevation of this stage, the summit of Cima del Monte, 516 m:

Then you descend, then climb slightly up to another relief:

Then you go down again, still along the ridge. On your left, you can see the Castello del Volterraio:

You reach and cross Route 32:

You go down along a narrow paved road, with a view on Rio nell'Elba, and farther away, on Rio Marina:

You enter the village, walking along its narrow and picturesque streets:
