
HIKES
By hike we mean a route that usually winds along paths.
It can vary greatly in difficulty and effort, and in the skill and experience requirements for those who do it. This depends on the distance to be covered, the elevation gain to be overcome, the slopes of the trail, the ease of orientation, the level of exposure, the altitude and the type of terrain.
Before deciding to tackle a route, you need to carefully evaluate its characteristics, keeping in mind your own limits, weather conditions and terrain conditions. Clothing must be adequate, as must your water and food reserves.
