from Realp, Canton of Uri
A lovely day in the paradise of Uri, relatively safe even after a heavy snowfall, with exciting views.
Also feasible with snowshoes.
You get to Realp from Andermatt, following the road to the Furka Pass, that in winter stops right at Realp. You park there (you will need 3 Fr.s in coins for the ticket)
You go through the village and take the road that runs along the railway (the summer one, not the one that goes into the tunnel); the road crosses the tracks and then leads to the Rotondohütte (directions).
On you left flows the river....
You destination is clear and visible
You ignore a number of bridges on the left of the track and go straight ahead
You go over a newsstand
and then the road leads to a bridge just below the rail.
By crossing it, you get to a couple of huts
you turn right
along slopes that lead to three more huts
that you overcome, to climb the ridge to the left of them. Your goal is always visible, and you climb the wide dorsal
with a view on the Furka Pass
At the end of the slope
you cross a small plateau where there is a private bivouac
You go on along moderate slopes, until you get to the secondary summit
and then to the top.
Cosmic views!
A fantastic descent along the path forward
