MONTE ALTISSIMO DI NAGO
from San Giacomo
A really beautiful trip, easy, width great views, including Lake Garda.
Access
You reach the town of San Giacomo coming from Brentonico. The official start would be, little after the town of San Giacomo, on a sharp bend where a road branches off, closed to the traffic, with possibility to park, and signpost indicating the path 633 to the Monte Altissimo di Nago
but due to lack of snow we drove further towards San Valentino and took the upstream valley at a small road closed by a bar
Ascent
You follow the woods, loosing slightly altitude
heading to the houses on the border of the clearing ahead
to rejoin the path 633
You follow it, without possibibility to go wrong
You get to a flatter area
then you head towards the Bocca del Creer
Shortly after you reach Refuge Graziani
and from there you go up on the wide southeast ridge, up to the top, going aside and then crossing the Sentiero della Pace (path of peace)
The summit has a trigonometric point... and wonderful views
a little behind it, lies the Refuge Altissimo Damiano Chiesa
